Sharon is the mom of two AAPS students and a full-time in-house lawyer. She is extremely passionate about improving K-12 education in her community. With her legal background, she is particularly concerned with improving district governance and ensuring AAPS provides top-notch civic education. Originally from the Detroit suburbs, she attended college in Indiana and law school here in Ann Arbor. She brought her family back to Ann Arbor in 2019 on the promise of raising her Jewish kids in a diverse, inclusive, liberal community with excellent public K-12 schools. Sharon is dedicating her time to Focus on Education A2 to ensure that AAPS lives up to that promise, that the Ann Arbor school board stops the insanity and gets back to focusing on our kids and their education.

Jenny, a Clinical Psychologist, has a daughter in preschool and a son who just finished 1st grade in AAPS. She runs a thriving private therapy practice and enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and traveling. Jenny grew up in New York and spent many years in Philadelphia before arriving in Ann Arbor, a place she and her Husband were drawn to for its liberal and progressive values. She now feels like Ann Arbor is a second home where she has made wonderful friendships and connections. Inspired by her parents’ service in education while she was growing up - her mother as a school teacher for 38 years and her father as an elected Board of Education trustee in the K-12 district she grew up in - Jenny is excited to be a part of the non-profit organization, Focus on Education A2, to advocate for a return to civility, tolerance, true inclusivity, and acceptance of diverse beliefs and cultures within AAPS.
